Section 2
There are different ways to decorate your ranch: editing the Terrain and buying and placing different buildings. Buildings & Decorations cost different currencies: Gold Coins, ADs, Stars (earnable by watching ads), and Ribbons (Loyalty Points).
Although there are no rewards for decorating your ranch (besides the first few ranch goals), some Jockeys require that you have a well-decorated ranch. Also, organizing your ranch may make it easier for other players to visit specific horses when visiting your ranch. See below as an example:

How to place terrain and how to remove/change it:
Click “Edit Terrain”. Two things will happen. A terrain placement square appears on your ranch and an info bar will pop up. The functions of the buttons are:
- Camera: This toggles viewing angle, either from the side or from the top.
- Use ⇆ to choose which terrain you want: Sand, Mud, White Brick, Snow, Stone Path, Grass and Dirt Path.
- Size: Changes from 1x1 up to 16x16.
- Move and Place: Use this to change whether the terrain is applied continuously (great for making paths/roads/trails), or individual placement.
- Tree: (See How to place tree and how to remove them).
- “Deleting" Terrain: Terrain can’t be deleted. Instead, you can go over the unwanted terrain with the type of terrain of your choosing (ie. grass can cover up all unwanted terrain types).
- When you are viewing your ranch (out of edit mode), you can zoom in and out (mouse scroll or pinch and drag on mobile). A full zoom out is helpful, as you can see the overall appearance of your ranch and the decorations.
How to place trees and how to remove them:
Click Edit Terrain -> Select “Trees”. Placing trees is the same as editing terrain, except for deletion.
- To place any trees you do the same as if you were to edit terrain, using the arrows and the ✔ to place a tree.
There are different tree types you can place: Pine, Country Tree, Country Tree Orange(1 & 2) and Palm(1 & 2). Use the ⇆ to choose which type.
- Size: There are 3 sizes. Small, medium and large.
- Delete Mode: On or Off. “Off” for placing trees and “On” to delete existing trees.
Buildings
The Stables and Barns section is there to help you organize your horses and also give easy access to them. Stables do not determine how many horses you can have on your ranch. Your number and level of Certificates (purchased in the Store) do. There is no limit to how many barns & stables you can have. Currently, horses who are housed are not affected by the barn types. Barn and stable options are for aesthetic purposes (they look pretty!).
How to place, move and use buildings:
To place your first barn, you must buy one. Go To: STORE - > Buildings (top category on the left side) There are 6 pages of different items. Filter Category by Stables (2 pages), look through the stables & barns and choose the one you like, each one costs gold coin (the Deluxe Stable costs ADs). Once you tap Purchase, it will switch to placement view on your ranch. Use the directional arrows to move it to where you wish to place it, you can rotate it ⟳, then tap ✔ to place it.
💡Quick Hints:
- A 5-second timer will pop up, allowing you to ‘quick’ buy another of the same building. This is helpful when decorating.
- If you want to place an identical building again, tap one of your existing buildings, tap move and tap the ✔, the timer will pop-up again and you can quick purchase another one!
*On each barns description page there is a comment about what types of horses this barn makes comfortable. This is a possible future implementation.
How to place your horse in a building:
Select a barn -> Select Visit -> Select Empty Space. When selected, all the horses that are unplaced will come up first. Simply select a horse and it will be placed in the chosen stable.
More on Buildings:
There is so much more that you are able to put on your ranch! There are training buildings (See Section 4), and other buildings such as a trailer, regular house, and a big house. These housing options can help you get a better jockey. The BIG HOUSE costs 40AD. You can also buy a Hay Barn, which costs 50AD. The Hay Barn decreases the price of all food on your ranch. Other things to place on your ranch to improve visual appeal can be bought in the store including: bushes, flowers, statues, ponds etc.
To delete any item (including barns): Tap the item -> Tap move -> Tap trash bin.
Tips on how to make your ranch 'pretty':
A good way to make your ranch ‘pretty’ is to keep things ordered and neat. Really nice ranches have paths, specific areas for stables/barns, arenas, and training facilities. Many players model their ranches after how ranches are organized in real life. There is plenty of space on the ranch to do many different things.
- You can spell your brand name out in trees, create a bridle path through a forest; you name it! You can even look at other people’s ranches and get some inspiration from there.
- Tip: some users will take offence if you copy everything from their ranch onto your ranch. It is better to look at several ranches and combine ideas for a unique look.
