Breeding Your Horse

Breeding Barn (Info, How To:):

In order to breed:

  • The stud and mare must be over Level 5.
  • Mares must be under age 15 (stallions can breed at any age).
Note: Your pregnant mare and unborn foal will not be able to compete until the pregnancy time has expired (12hrs or HA Club 2 hrs). The unborn foal cannot be sold on the Market or the Auction. However, they can be traded (or sold or gifted) in a private trade. If you don't like the foal, you may also Donate while it is "unborn" ($100,000). Getting rid of the foal will not expire your mare's pregnancy timer.

How to get to the breeding barn:

  1. ♥ Breeding (top middle of screen)
  2. Visiting in Stables -> Breeding (♥ icon bottom right of screen)
  • Once in the Breeding Barn, you can select a stud and mare.

Tip: To look at the Perso/TPs of a stud or mare, tap and hold the picture of the stud/mare you want to check, and select the “Personality and Talents” tab. It will pop up to view the stud’s /mare’s information. The same can be done for the Stud Market.

  • Once a stud and mare has been chosen, you can tap “Breed” and the foal window will come up, displaying its number of talent points and personality percentages.

Hint: (what you are looking for)

  • TPs:
    • 1-3 Awful
    • 4-5 Poor
    • 6-7 Average
    • 9-10 Good
    • 11+ Excellent
  • Perso:
    • Anything over 85% is okay, over 95% is excellent.

How To Breed a Rare:

Breeding a Rare requires more steps. There is a 3-part ranch goal that guides you through the steps on how to breed a rare (Leopard Appy Part I, II, III). We highly suggest you follow that in-game tutorial to understand the basics of Rare breeding in HA3D. For sake of space, we will highlight only the basic steps here:

  1. You can pick a Rare to breed 2 ways:
    1. The easiest is a New Feature! If you select either your Mare or a Stud First, then “Select Rare (none)”, the Rare breed pop-up window will only show the Rares that your selected horse can breed. See below:

HA Breeding Rares.png

    1. 'Select Rare (none)’ The pop-up menu shows all the rare breeds that are currently breedable. If you wish to see if you have the combination for the breed, you can select and hold on the breed thumbnail (e.g: Black Appy), and a pop-up will display the two required horses. ( means you own it, X means you don't currently). All Rare breeds require the parents to have certain appearances.
    2. Once a Rare is selected, properly equipped horses will be displayed, when you go to Select Mare and Select Stud (My Stud /or/ Market Studs)
  1. After you have selected a mare & stud, Look at the Black Information bar on the bottom left, if it displays "breed 1% " you’ve picked appropriate parents, Otherwise it reads “No Special Breed Possible” (try steps 1.1 or 1.2 again)
  2. Choose: “No Vitamin Equipped” = Without a breeding vitamin there is a 1% chance to get that Rare, or you can equip a Breeding Vitamin which increases the chance of getting your Rare. (see Breeding Vitamins detail info below)
  3. Once you have selected which vitamin (if any) you wish to use, Tap ‘Breed’ and you have a possibility of getting a rare breed. Congratulations!

(EXPLAINED in Section 3:Horses - Appearances)

How vitamins work

Vitamins are very important to breeding, as they give a better % in getting a special breed that you want. For example, if you’re trying to breed a Leopard Appy (the first Rare you will try to breed), you can add one of the following breeding vitamins:

  • 30% : There is a 30% chance that your foal will be the rare selected (70% chance for a reg foal).
  • 50%: There is a 50% chance (50% not rare).
  • 80%: There is an 80% chance (YES- even 80% vits fail 20% of the time).

When you tap on “No Vitamin Equipped” a “Select a Vitamin” popup will show how many you have of each % vitamin (the quantity owned is displayed in the top right corner of each vitamin icon). If you do not own a vitamin (0), you can select one of the breeding vitamins and purchase it with ADs. These are also awarded as a Championship Finals prize, or can be bought in the store.

Stud Market:

The stud market is where you are able to use other people’s studs. HA Club members can list their stallions with a stud fee for other players to use them. It is very helpful as it means you can use them if you are trying to breed a certain Rare (though sometimes random horses do come up, which is usually due to a properly equipped horse not being available), or if you want to try get a higher TP born. To view the Stud Market: In Breeding Barn -> Select Stud -> Stud Market.

  • If you choose a stud first, you are able to use horses up to level 30.
  • If you choose a mare first, only studs within 10 levels of the mare will be displayed.

Note: If your club expires, your horses on the stud market will be removed.

Genetics Lab:

The Genetics Lab is a building which you can buy from the store for 40AD. The Genetics Lab allows you to see the percentage for a high TP horse(10TP+). The higher the % is, the more likely you are to breed a 10tp-12tp horse. See below:

Breeding Tips and Suggestions:

Horses that are born with high talent points (10TP-12TP) and levelled to 30 produce better foals than low-level horses (below 30) that have low talent points. For example:

  • 2 Lvl 5 horses with 13 talents each (born with 12 talent points), will give you a ‘’’2%’’’ chance of producing a foal with 10 or more talent points.
  • 2 Lvl 30 horses that were born with 12 talent points and have 3 talent points each in Top Breeder will give you around a ‘’’70% ‘’’ chance of breeding a foal with 10 or more talent points.
Note: Level of the mare and stud used to breed does ‘’’not’’’ affect the success or failure of a breeding vitamin towards producing a Rare.
TPs Tip: In order to improve breeding, make sure both horses used have 3 Top Breeder Talents!

Breeding League Rules and Tips:

The Breeding League was created to allow for competitive breeding. The rules are as follows:

  • The Breeding League standings can be found by selecting Breeding -> Breeding League.
  • Points are awarded to each player as follows:

For each foal that is bred on your ranch, 1TP = 1 point (ie. a 12tp born regular foal would be worth 12 points).

  • If the horse is one of the top 10 breedable rares: multiply points by 10.
  • If the horse is one of the top 20 breedable rares: multiply points by 8.
  • If the horse is one of the top 50 breedable rares: multiply points by 5.
  • If the horse is one of any other rare:multiply points by 3.

Note: If you sell the horse and it gets levelled up, you get the points (if you level up a horse of someone else's brand, that won't get you the points)

  • If the horse reaches Level 5: 15 points
  • If the horse reaches Level 20: 50 points
  • If the horse reaches Level 50: 100 points
  • If the horse reaches Level 75: 200 points
  • If the horse reaches Level 100: 500 points

➜The "Top" number of breedable rares can be seen by looking at the rare in the Breed Book. If a breedable horse is ranked, it will have a white number in the bottom right corner of the rare's picture (The lower the number, the more points you get for breeding it).

➜The league standings are reset every Saturday, and those in the Top 10 are awarded the AD prizes as shown, as well as promoted to the next league.
